Discover how healthy you will age with Valeo’s Longevity score 1.0
In the age of data-driven decision-making, we're accustomed to measuring almost everything in our lives. And when it comes to our health, we want a simple and impactful way to know how we're doing and how we can improve. That's where Valeo's Longevity Score 1.0 steps in. After extensive research on over 100,000 blood markers, our team of doctors, health coaches, and tech engineers, led by Chief Wellbeing Officer Jamie Richards, developed the Valeo Longevity 1.0 score based on Valeo’s proprietary algorithm. Drawing inspiration from longevity health experts like David Sinclair, we aim to provide a clear measure of health and vitality.
Essentially, Valeo's Longevity Score, ranging from 0 to 100, reflects your health status. By monitoring this score, you can assess how your lifestyle affects your health status and gauge the trajectory of your health span i.e. the number of years you are generally living in good health. At the core of this score are biomarkers, the body's subtle signals about its internal state. Valeo deciphers these signals, presenting you with your personal Longevity Score.
What does Valeo’s Longevity 1.0 measure?
Valeo’s Longevity Score is calculated using 30 biomarkers. These biomarkers are grouped into essential functions of the body that impact your health span. The list below provides the health parameters of which this score is made:
- Metabolism & Weight Control: Biomarkers in this category offer insights into healthy weight maintenance and metabolic processes, influencing longevity and life quality.
- Hydration: A key longevity metric, hydration affects cellular health, organ function, and vitality.
- Musculoskeletal Health: This measures physical resilience, mobility, and bone strength, crucial for an active, independent life, promoting longer, healthier living.
- Vitamins and minerals: These biomarkers are essential for various physiological processes, impacting health and longevity.
- Inflammation: Inflammatory markers are linked to chronic inflammation, connected to many age-related diseases.
- Strength & Endurance: These biomarkers gauge muscular and cardiovascular health, important for longevity scoring.
- Oxygen Transfer & Blood Function: These indicators reveal cardiovascular health and tissue oxygenation, key for a healthier, extended life.
- Liver Function & Toxicity: Assessing the liver's role in detoxification, metabolism, and balance is critical for longevity scoring.
- Hormones: Essential for longevity metrics, hormones control key health aspects like metabolism, growth, and immune function.
Our longevity calculator assesses various biomarkers within each health parameter, comparing your biomarker values to optimal ranges based on Valeo’s proprietary algorithm. Optimal ranges are blood test values that are linked to better future health. These optimal ranges have been scientifically determined through research and years of experience and testing. Optimal ranges only apply to certain biomarkers that can be influenced, positively, by lifestyle intervention. For example, there is an optimal range for blood sugar (Hba1c). Hba1c can be improved by diet, movement, supplementation and even your mood, so improvement is both achievable and realistic. Each biomarker holds a distinct weight within its respective health parameter. Based on your score, we indicate how much room there is for improvement for each biomarker.
